Everything You Need to Know About Brunch

Before we get into the more details, we need to first talk about what brunch actually is. Many people have heard of it but aren’t sure when it’s held and what even goes on. Brunch is a mixture of the words breakfast and dinner. Some people call it a late breakfast or an early lunch. It happens closer to breakfast time but the food is a mix of savory and sweet. Different areas have different types of brunch, but the food and drinks are similar to each other. It used to be something that only the rich took part in, but it’s now transformed into something people of all classes and walks of life enjoy.

Common Brunch Drinks

A brunch wouldn’t be the same if it didn’t have some of the most popular drinks. You can either mix these yourself or use a flavored syrup from a company like Monin Canada. Depending on your preferences, the drinks you have at your brunch can be either alcoholic or non-alcoholic. That really depends on what you and your guests like. Keep in mind, you don’t have to have specific drinks, but there are some that are pretty common.

Alcoholic

  • Bloody Mary
  • Champagne
  • Irish Coffee
  • Mimosa
  • Spritzer

Non-Alcoholic

  • Coffee
  • Tea
  • Orange Juice
  • Fruit Juices
  • Sparkling Water

Common Brunch Food

Another thing you need for brunch is delicious food! You can either have some healthy brunch foods or go for something a little more fattening. You could even do a combination of both. Different areas are going to have different types of food, but almost all of them incorporate eggs in some way. While these are just the common ones, you can make any type of food that you want. Here are some ideas:

  • Cereal
  • Eggs Benedict
  • Roasted Meats
  • Cinnamon Rolls
  • Hash Browns
  • Waffles or Pancakes
  • Pastries
  • Quiche

Where Can I Have Brunch?

The great thing is that you can have brunch in several different locations. Similar as to what you’ll be serving, it’s all up to preference. If you have the space, you could hold brunch in your home or backyard. If you don’t, you could opt to rent a community hall or city hall. These are usually affordable, have plenty of tables and chairs and usually have a full kitchen. Some even let you rent the night before so you can prepare some things ahead of time. If you don’t want to do any of that, you could have brunch at a local restaurant. You won’t be able to have much control, if any, on the food and drinks served, but you’ll be able to invite everyone you want to.

How Can I Make My Brunch Special and Unique?

Another thing that a lot of people wonder is how they can make their brunch special and unique. If you’re holding the brunch at your home or city hall, you can do many things to help make the event special and unique. For starters, you can make specific food and drinks that have a special meaning to you and your guests. You could also use cutlery, serving items, and things like plates or cups that have a pretty design or colors. You could even have a theme, such as tropical or garden. You can then use things like paper decorations, centerpieces, and tablepcloths that go with that theme. On the other hand, having a brunch at a restaurant means you’ll have much more limited decorating. You’ll have to talk to the managers, but you might be able to bring your own centerpieces or paper decorations.

Who Do I Invite to Brunch?

One last thing to think about when it comes to brunch is who you’ll invite. You don’t have to invite everyone you know. The best way to figure out who you’ll invite is by sitting down and making a list. Once the list is made, go through and think about each person. If you don’t really talk to them or if you wouldn’t invite them over for dinner, then they can probably get taken off. In the end, the guest list is up to you and you can invite anyone you want!
