5 Hot Sandwiches in 10 minutes

A hot sandwich can be a great breakfast or lunch when you don’t have time to cook or have a large family. Grilled grain bread sandwich is no less nutritious than mashed potatoes with chicken and can be much more delicious.

Ham & cheese sandwiches

Difficulty: newbie.

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • bread for toasts – 8 pcs;
  • cheese – 100 g;
  • pickles – 3-4 pcs;
  • ham – 4 slices;
  • mayonnaise – 2 tsp.

Equipment: electric grill or sandwich maker, grater, knife.

Grate cheese with a zester/grater. Cut pickles into rounds. Lubricate toasts with mayonnaise on both sides. Sprinkle half of the grated cheese and cucumbers on one side. Add a slice of ham on top. Carefully sprinkle the remaining cheese. Cover with the second toast and bake in an electric grill or sandwich maker for 9-10 minutes until toasted and melted cheese. Cut the crust off and split the toasts into triangles.

Grilled sandwich with chicken breast

Difficulty: newbie.

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • white bread – 8 pcs;
  • canned tuna – 1 can;
  • pickles – 2 pcs;
  • fresh cucumber – 1;
  • red onions – ¼ pcs,
  • olive oil – 2 tsp,
  • mustard – 1 tsp,
  • lemon juice – ½ tsp,
  • mayonnaise – ½ cup,
  • toast cheese – 4 slices,
  • iceberg lettuce – 4 leaves,
  • dill, celery.

Equipment: electric grill or oven, blender, knife.

Fork mash the tuna. Finely chop onions, celery, pickles, and dill or use a blender. Mix tuna and vegetables with mustard, olive oil, lemon juice, and half mayonnaise.

Lubricate all pieces of bread from one side with the remaining mayonnaise. Put half of the ready mixture on half of them and top with slices of cheese. You get 4 toasts with lettuce and cheese and 4 slices with mayonnaise.

Fry the toasts separately in the grill or oven. Make sure the “empty” slices of bread are not overtoasted.

Put the rounds of pickles and the salad leaves (1 for each) on top of the cheese and cover the sandwiches with a second toast. For such a sandwich, wheat or egg flour bread is suitable.

Bacon, egg, and rocket sandwiches

Difficulty: newbie.

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • bread for toasts – 8 pcs;
  • bacon – 8 pcs;
  • eggs – 4 pcs;
  • mayonnaise – ½ cup;
  • butter – 2 tsp;
  • Sriracha or chili sauce – 1 tsp;
  • rocket – 1 cup;
  • salt, ground black pepper.

Equipment: electric grill or oven, frying pan, knife.

Fry or bake bacon on food foil until it’s crispy but not dry. Lubricate all pieces of bread on one side with mayonnaise and fry/roast them on that side for 3 minutes on a preheated pan/grill.

While the toasts are being roasted, mix the rest of the mayonnaise with Sriracha sauce. Make fried eggs on butter, add salt and pepper to taste.

Lubricate the unfried side of the toast with mayonnaise spicy sauce, put bacon, an egg, and some rocket on top and cover with a second toast. The bacon should be crispy, not dry.

Avocado and omelet sandwiches

Difficulty: newbie.

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • grain burger buns – 4 pcs, or multigrain bread – 8 pcs;
  • eggs – 6;
  • milk – ¼ cup;
  • butter – 50 g;
  • cheese – 150 g;
  • avocado – 1;
  • red sweet pepper – 1.

Equipment: electric grill or sandwich maker, frying pan, bowl, knife, grater.

Whisk the eggs and milk. Pour the mixture into a hot and buttered pan. Fry stirring constantly over low heat for about 5 minutes to make scrambled eggs. Remove from the fire, add grated cheese, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir again.

Put scrambled eggs on the bottom of the bun, top with sliced in rounds avocadoes and sweet pepper. Cover it all with the top half of the bun and send it to the grill or sandwich maker for 2-3 minutes. Scrambled eggs should be fried over low heat, constantly stirring.

A nut-butter, jam, and banana toast

Difficulty: newbie.

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • toast bread – 8 pcs;
  • peanuts or any other nuts – 1 cup;
  • Banana – 1,
  • jam;
  • grain cottage cheese;
  • vegetable oil – 1 tbsp;
  • honey or any other sweetener (jam, jelly, syrup) – 1 tbsp,

Equipment: electric grill, blender, knife.

Grind nuts or peanuts in a blender, add salt, honey and vegetable oil to taste. Any spices can be added to the paste: cinnamon, cocoa or butternut, and water can be added instead of vegetable oil – the paste then will be more airy and less caloric.

Grill or toast the pieces of bread. Apply a thin layer of jam on the toasts, then peanut butter, and put a banana in rounds on top. Cover with the second toast.

After such breakfast you can safely go to the gym -it’s not heavy, and the energy will be enough for 3 hours of moderate training.
